# Cloud agents and CI

> Use Octonote from Claude Code on the web, Codex cloud tasks and GitHub Actions.

Cloud agents and CI can't open a browser to sign in. Use a token instead:

1. Create one in **Settings → CLI & agents** on octonote.ai. You see it only once.
2. Add it as a secret named `OCTONOTE_TOKEN` in your agent's or CI's environment.

`OCTONOTE_TOKEN` wins over `octonote login`. See [Sign-in and tokens](https://docs.octonote.ai/cli/authentication.md) for what a token can do.

## GitHub Actions

```yaml theme={null}
- run: npm i -g @octonote/cli
- run: octonote note append pag_… --file CHANGELOG.md
  env:
    OCTONOTE_TOKEN: ${{ secrets.OCTONOTE_TOKEN }}
```
