# Codex

> Teach Codex to save and find your work in Octonote.

Install the CLI and sign in first ([Install the CLI](https://docs.octonote.ai/cli/install.md)). Then:

```bash theme={null}
octonote setup codex            # this project's AGENTS.md
octonote setup codex --global   # every project (~/.codex/AGENTS.md)
```

`setup` adds a short Octonote section to `AGENTS.md` ([see exactly what](https://docs.octonote.ai/agents/agent-guide.md)).

## Allow network access

Codex runs commands in a sandbox that blocks the network by default, so `octonote` would fail with `NETWORK`. Allow it, or approve the command when Codex asks:

```toml ~/.codex/config.toml theme={null}
[sandbox_workspace_write]
network_access = true
```
